WHAT
As part of our festival in February, we are putting out there an open call to people who want to participate.
Our vision is to present different perspectives on the arctic nature and people and create an immersive experience, where visitors can create their own narrative as they experience all the different artworks and events during the three days.
We have an allocated sum of our budget for supporting accepted open call proposals, to cover material/shipping expenses.
There is no limit to the number of proposals we will accept, as long as we can reasonably fit everything in the space. In Vapaan Taiteen Tila there is a PA, small light design panel, and plenty of physical space to move around and put things – for more specific specs click here.
WHO
This is open to artists, scientists, researchers – anyone whose work connects to the Arctic in some way. If you have an idea for leading a panel discussion, creating an installation on languages of the Arctic, an interesting research on demographics, would like to present a study on bird migration, some inspiring story you’ve heard about the Arctic, sing a song you wrote, or have an idea for a sculpture – we are looking for you!
APPLY
Send us an email to artarcticaproject@gmail.com and include a paragraph on who you are, and tell us more about your idea.
Also mention any potential requirements you have for your idea (in terms of space, equipment, help with transportation, etc).
DEADLINE
Deadline for applications: 31 December 2015.
